LIVE UPDATES: 2019 ASPCA Maclay National Championship at National Horse Show

5 p.m. – At the conclusion of the second over fences round, judges Tammy Provost and Jimmy Torano have elected to test the following top six riders:

The test will be: Canter directly to fence 1, counter canter fence 11, 12ab to 13 in six strides, halt, canter fence 8, hand gallop fence 5 and exit at walk.

3:30 p.m. – The flat phase has concluded, where horse-and-rider combinations’ adjustability, balance and connection were put to the test by the judges, who asked for a series of skill demonstrations such as the counter-canter, extended canter and sitting trot, among others.

2:30 p.m. – The first round of the 2019 ASPCA Maclay National Championship is complete! The final group of 25 riders will be advancing to the flat phase, which will be split into three groups. Those top 25 riders are as follows:

Lexington, Ky. – Nov. 3, 2019 – The 2019 ASPCA Maclay National Championship, presented by Chansonette Farm, will begin Sunday, November 3 at 7:00 a.m. with 179 junior riders competing over fences in the first round of the prestigious final in the Alltech Arena at the National Horse Show. This year’s judges are Tamara Provost and Jimmy Torano. Stay tuned for Sunday’s coverage on Phelps Sports, which will be updated live throughout the class with photos, commentary and call back lists. The second round of the Maclay will begin at approximately 3:30 p.m. with the flat phase followed by another round of over fences.
