FEI Jog Kick Starts Kentucky Spring Horse Shows at Kentucky Horse Park

Lexington, Ky. – May 8, 2018 – Horses and athletes have arrived at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington for two weeks of hunter/jumper competition at the Kentucky Spring Horse Shows, spanning from May 9–20. Tuesday kicked off the first week of CSI3* competition with the FEI jog at 10 a.m. where all 60 horses passed inspection for soundness.

Week one, the Kentucky Spring Horse Show, runs Wednesday, May 9, through Sunday, May 13, with the main event, the $131,000 Hollow Creek Farm Grand Prix CSI3*, scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Saturday in the Rolex Stadium. Wednesday will feature the $35,000 Welcome Speed, followed by the first of the seven-part Hagyard Challenge Series, the $35,000 Hagyard Lexington Classic on Thursday. As a WCHR Member Event, hunters will take center stage on Sunday in the Stonelea Ring with the $10,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby and the $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby. Additional jumper highlights include the featured national classes on Sunday with the $35,000 Commonwealth Grand Prix and the $20,000 Hollow Creek Under 25 Grand Prix.

The Kentucky Spring Classic will follow with the second week of CSI3* competition from May 16-20, highlighting the $131,000 Mary Rena Murphy Grand Prix on Saturday, May 19 at 6 p.m. in the Rolex Stadium.
