Wellington, Fla. – Feb. 1, 2017 – Horses and athletes have arrived at Deeridge Farms in Wellington, Florida, to kick-off the second edition of the CP Palm Beach Masters, presented by SOVARO®, featuring the $216,000 Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping Wellington CSI3*-W. The private property, owned by the Jacobs family, will be open to the public for the second major competition of this size ever to be held on the facility grounds. There were 139 horses, representing a total of 21 countries, who turned out for the FEI jog on Wednesday at 2 p.m.
The 2017 Palm Beach Masters runs Thursday, Feb. 2, through Sunday, Feb. 5, with the main event, the $216,000 Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping Wellington CSI3*-W, scheduled for 12 p.m. on Sunday.
Charlie Jacobs, who is the event co-founder along with siblings Louis Jacobs and Katie Jacobs-Robinson, will be competing this week with Calanta and his 2016 World Cup mount, Cassinja S.

This year’s event will again feature one of the final two East Coast qualifying events in the Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping North American League. A total of 14 athletes from the North American League will qualify for the 2017 Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping Finals, which will take place this year in North America on March 29–April 2 at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Nebraska. The top seven athletes from the East Coast sub league and top three from the West Coast sub league, and the two best-placed athletes from Canada and Mexico, will qualify for the final, alongside winners from 14 other leagues around the world. In addition to the qualifier, the event will also feature additional jumper classes for both junior and amateur riders.
Deeridge Farms, a 300-acre oasis of serenity and beauty set in the Village of Wellington, will host the event. Owned by the Jacobs family since 1980, the farm has rarely been used for equestrian competitions until the inaugural Wellington Masters in 2016.
