Murchison and CH Spread the Word have been a team for four years and are no strangers to the winner’s circle. The pair has competed all over the country and CH Spread the Word has won impressive titles such as the Overall Pleasure Horse of the Year two times, in 2015 and 2017. Murchison recalls attending the Devon Horse Show as a child and dreaming of the day she would earn a Devon blue. Now, she and CH Spread the Word have made their mark for three years in a row winning the top prize in the Three-Gaited English Show Pleasure class. Second place was captured by Michelle Sprengelmeyer and Fox Grape’s Dandy Lion.

On CH Spread the Word:
“He is incredible. He is a two time World Champion of Champions, three time National Champion. He won Overall Pleasure Horse of the Year for the United Professional Horsemen’s Association two years in a row. He is just a really incredible animal and I’m so incredibly blessed to be a part of his journey because he is just amazing. He has such a personality. He really likes to be the center of attention, which is understandable. He is really a character, especially with me. He is super sweet and loves to play. He is very, very special to me.”

On showing at Devon:
“I grew up riding Saddlebreds and I always wanted to show here, but I never could. As an adult, the opportunity to show here came up with [CH Spread the Word] and it’s so exciting for me. I remember as a kid just watching professionals like Randy Harper and horses like One for The Road showing and winning here and it was always so amazing. So now getting to grow up and show here with a horse like CH Spread the Word in the Dixon Oval is beyond incredible.”
