Three-Time Olympian Michael Page to Hold Weekend Clinic at Rose Dhu Creek Equestrian Center

Bluffton, SC (August 27, 2009) – Rose Dhu Creek Equestrian Center, managed by Hall of Fame jockey Eddie Maple and his wife Kate, is once again bringing World Class Equestrian and Olympic Gold Medalist Michael Page to Bluffton, South Carolina for two days of Hunter-Jumper instruction.  The clinic will take place September 26th and 27th, 2009 and will consist of multiple sessions daily, each an hour and a half in length.  Page is skilled in all aspects of Hunter-Jumper instruction and the clinic is open to riders of all abilities. As an added bonus, Michael Page will be giving a lecture and question and answer session free to all clinic participants and auditors. 

Michael Page’s credentials speak for themselves. He graduated from the French Cavalry School in Saumur, France before winning the Individual Gold Medal in both the 1959 Pan American Games in Chicago, the Individual Gold and the Team Gold in the 1963 Pan American Games in Sao Paulo, and the Individual Bronze and the Team Gold in the 1967 Pan American Games in Winnipeg. Page competed in three different Olympic Games winning a Team Silver in 1964 and an Individual Bronze and a Team Silver in 1968.  He also served as the coach of Canadian 3-Day Olympic team in the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal. He also has served as Chairman for the AHSA Equitation Committee, the USET Nominating Committee, and was a Judge for the AHSA/ASPCA Equitation Finals (7 times), and also at the Intercollegiate National Finals (4 times). Page is currently the Resident Trainer and Instructor for the Kent School in Kent, Connecticut.  Page conducts several clinics each year and is renowned for his lectures on Horsemanship, Horseshowmanship, and other Equestrian related topics.

Jockey Eddie Maple and his wife Kathryn recently took over the reins of the The Rose Dhu Creek Equestrian Center, after having much success at the other facility under their management, The Rose Hill Plantation Equestrian Center.  The Rose Dhu Creek Equestrian Center is a first class facility, featuring a 16,000 square foot state-of-art barn

containing 32 12’x12’ stalls, climate controlled tack rooms, and even a rider’s lounge complete with big screen T.V. and satellite. There are three large arenas including a covered and lighted arena and two all-weather arenas, 12 rotating paddocks with run-in shelters and cooling misters, and over 6.5 miles of established riding and leisure trails that meander through 320 stunning acres of the Rose Dhu Creek Plantation.

Auditing:  $25 for one day, $40 for both days
