North Salem, NY - July 9, 2012 - When the legendary American Gold Cup returns to action at its new home at the beautiful Old Salem Farm in North Salem, New York on September 12th through the 16th, 2012, possible future legends of the show ring will be on display in the highly anticipated Only Jumpers Auction, scheduled for Saturday, September 15, 2012.
The Only Jumpers Auction will introduce an exclusive selection of top quality, young jumper and hunter prospects to be auctioned at this year's revival of the famed American Gold Cup. Previous auctions have been held to great reviews in Ocala and in Wellington, Florida.
The New York Auction will put on display a group of outstanding KWPN four year-olds imported from Holland, and selected for their superior talent, disposition, scope and technique, for the very demanding New York horse market. These outstanding prospects come from the top breeders in Holland, including Team Nijhof, home of the famous stallions Concorde, Heart Breaker, and Clinton.
"We are excited to partner with OnlyJumpers and proud to bring some of our best youngsters to the USA," said Jeannette Nijhof. "The young horses chosen for the New York Auction are first generation descendants of legendary jumping stallions, including Quidam de Revel, Carthago, Libero H, Lord Z, Concorde, and current top KWPN sensation stallion, Verdi, star of the Netherlands Olympic team going to London. We expect that the horses we bring to the OnlyJumpers Auction will also perform at the highest level."
Buyers will get a chance to see the jumping prospects in action, test ride them, and choose their favorite. For buyers who are interested in buying a horse, but are looking for help with finance, we are very pleased that Merrill Lynch can provide you with a special Equestrian Finance program.
"Our auctions are always fun for all and everyone is invited", said Juan Pablo Gnecco from Only Jumpers. "We will have first class cocktail parties and entertainment that will make the presentation and auction unforgettable events. We are only an hour away from New York City, but for people unable to attend in person, we will have online bidding and video streaming of the events available on Facebook and at www.onlyjumpers.com. We hope to see you at the auction!"
The main event, the famed $200,000 American Gold Cup CSI4*-W a FEI World Cup Qualifying Competition, will be the highlight event on the final Sunday.
The show will feature a full array of jumper classes, including sections for Children and Adult Jumpers, Low and High Junior/Amateur Jumpers, plus Young Jumpers. A $25,000 Show Jumping Hall of Classic will take center stage on Saturday and the day will also include $10,000 NAL Classics for Children, Adults and Low Junior/Amateurs.
Highlight events for Open Jumpers include the $10,000 1.45m Speed class on Thursday, the $50,000 American Gold Cup Qualifier on Friday, the $35,000 1.45m American Gold Cup Jumper Classic on Saturday and of course, Sunday's main event, the 42nd edition of the $200,000 American Gold Cup.
This year's event in September will be much more than an equestrian competition, but rather a family destination, offering the non-equestrian enthusiast a children's fair, a petting zoo, live musical entertainment and a trade fair. The famous Just World International Horseless Horse Show, always an exciting attraction for children attending the event, will also be held.
See you in September in New York!
