Many of the top horses in the world are here in Mexico City and gearing up for an explosive season opener for the first leg of the Longines Global Champions Tour.

Last year’s winner Roger-Yves Bost (FRA) brings with him his Grand Prix winning horse Qoud’Coeur de la Loge, as well as top horse Sydney une Prince, with the reigning Mexico City champions looking for a strong repeat in an arena that clearly suited his mounts. Scott Brash (GBR) brings with him top mare Ursula XII as well as Hello M’Lady, both of whom are looking to be on exceptional form at the moment. Simon Delestre (FRA) brings with him his two chestnut stars, Hermes Ryan and Chesall, and the magnificent Taloubet Z is back in action on Tour with Christian Ahlmann (GER).

The ever-expressive Hector van d’Abdijhoeve will be one to watch, with Bertram Allen (IRL) proving the grey stallion has all the scope and talent this time last year, with the speedy horse clearly enjoying the expansive grass arena. Bertram also brings top chestnut gelding Quiet Easy, with the pair a force to be reckoned with this weekend. Eric Lamaze’s (CAN) Fine Lady will also be in action this weekend, looking to make her debut at the picturesque setting of Campo Marte.

Harrie Smolders (NED) will compete with top stallion, the impressive and eye-catching Emerald, while compatriot Maikel van der Vleuten (NED) brings with him top mare VDL Groep Arera C. With other top names such as First Devision, New York, Eldorado, Caracas and Apart, this weekend will be full of top sport and world class action.
